I Sing the Bassoon Electric

Bassoonist David Schreiner has performed in recital throughout the United States and Canada on both modern and historical bassoons. He has commissioned new works for bassoon and has been heard on Michigan Public Radio and the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. David has performed seven solo recitals for the International Double Reed Society's annual conferences.

David’s orchestral career includes serving as principal bassoon with the Flint Symphony, Michigan Opera Orchestra, Michigan Chamber Orchestra, Ann Arbor Symphony, Hillsdale Symphony, Lake George Opera Festival, and the Birmingham Theater Orchestra. He has appeared with the American Ballet Theater, the Boston Ballet, and Toledo Symphony on modern bassoon and with Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra in Toronto on baroque bassoon.

Thanks for stopping by! I’ve had the pleasure of preforming a wide range of works for the bassoon over the years, and many of these pieces are somewhat unique. I’m glad to finally make recordings of some of these pieces available to the general public. Please have a listen and let me know what you think!
